Anaïs Hinds joined the Caribbean School of Dancing at the young age of four to learn classical ballet and over the years has become proficient in this style as well as other dance forms; Modern, Jazz, Contemporary and Afro-Caribbean. During her time as a student, Anaïs was an annual examination candidate in both the Royal Academy of Dance and Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing, being successful in the Advanced 2 examinations with Merit (2014) and Distinction (2013) respectively. Her love of dance was not put aside during her academic studies; Anaïs has successfully completed her O’ and A’ level examinations. In 2016 she graduated from the University of the West Indies with a degree in Chemical & Process Engineering.
Hinds was invited to join the school’s company Metamorphosis in 2009 where her versatility was further developed. Amongst her roles in the company, Anaïs performed in Trinidadian inspired version of the ballet “Giselle” choreographed and directed by Frederic Jahn and Patricia Ruan. Her ability to quickly absorb and execute choreography gained her the role of Assistant Rehearsal Director and she has been trusted by many choreographers to teach their work in their absence.
Currently, Anaïs is pursuing a Certificate of Ballet Teaching Studies with the Royal Academy of Dance in order to achieve registered teaching status.
